Reliable automated production of pharmaceutical folding cartons

For a CMO that packages pharmaceutical products for the French market, the STI Group developed a pre-glued pharmaceutical folding carton. The solution eliminates the need for manual assembly, securely separates tubes and package leaflets into three compartments, and can be assembled, filled and processed efficiently by machine.

A CMO for pharmaceutical manufacturers in France wanted to replace a folding carton for pharmaceutical products that had previously been assembled by hand. The packaging had to keep tubes and package leaflets securely separated, hold the products in place reliably and make fulfilment more efficient. The aim was to find a machine-compatible solution that would automate the manual process whilst ensuring the safe handling of the sensitive contents.

The STI Group developed a pre-glued pharmaceutical folding carton made of cardboard that can be erected and filled by machine. The pre-glued packaging incorporates three separate compartments for the tubes, as well as a designated area for the package leaflet. In addition, the STI Group supported the machine start-up to ensure reliable processing and the best possible performance in the automated packaging process.
